Western Cape’s most wanted suspect, Yanga Endrey Nyalara will remain in custody

WESTERN CAPE – A wanted suspect who managed to evade his arrest for a long time has finally made his appearance in Cape Town Magistrates court this morning, where he faced 31 charges, including six murder cases where a total of 19 people had lost their lives during last year in Khayelitsha. Yanga Endrey Nyalara (30) also known as Bara who is regarded the Western Cape’s most wanted suspect will remain in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for 18 August 2022, following his arrest last week where he was caught in possession of drugs with an estimated value of R 90 000-00.

The Minister of Police, Gen Bheki Cele and the Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Thembisile Patekile who both attended the court proceedings praised the SAPS members who pursued every avenue to ensure that Nyalara gets his day in court.

Besides the six murder charges, Nyalara has also been charged with the Prevention of Organised Crime Act, attempted murder, robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as dealing in drugs.

SAPS would like to express their appreciation to the public for providing valuable information and assisting us to create a safer environment for communities by removing ruthless criminals from our streets.
