Khayelitsha: On Wednesday, 15 October 2025, the Provincial Vehicle Crime Investigations Unit, in collaboration with various stakeholders, successfully carried out operations in the Khayelitsha policing precinct, resulting in multiple arrests.
According to South African Police Service, three roadblocks were set up on Parma Road, Japhata K Masemola Road, and Spine Road, leading to the arrest of five adult suspects for possession of stolen vehicles. As part of the operation, three vehicles were seized due to tampering with vehicle disks and were subsequently transferred to the Stikland vehicle storage facility.
In addition to these arrests, Metro Police issued a total of 46 fines for various traffic violations, amounting to R45,500. The operations also resulted in one arrest for carjacking and two arrests related to drug offenses.
The suspects are scheduled to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on Monday, 20 October 2025, to face their respective charges.
