Suspect arrested for house robberies and housebreaking in Kraaifontein

WESTERN CAPE � Observant Kraaifontein SAPS members arrested a 25-year-old male for house robbery and housebreaking at 14:00 on Thursday 08-08-2019 in Jackson Masala street, Bloekombos, Kraaifontein.

The members were attending a house robbery complaint in Elizabeth Street, Bloekombos when a victim came to inform the members that the suspect was in Jackson Masala Street. The members immediately proceeded to the mentioned street where they saw the described suspect pulling a wheelie bin. When the suspect saw the police he left the wheelie bin and started running. The members gave chase on foot and cornered the perpetrator in a residential property. The speedy reaction by the members led to the recovery of the stolen goods, three cellular telephones, a computer and R300-00 in cash.

The perpetrator had committed three house robberies and two housebreakings between 12:00 and 14:00 on Thursday, 08-08-2019 in Bloekombos assaulting several people, including the stabbing of two women and injuring an eight-month-old baby. He was arrested and detained at Kraaifontein SAPS on house robbery and housebreaking charges. He will appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrate's Court once he is charged.
