Western Cape: The Provincial Organise Crime Narcotics Unit assisted by Bothasig SAPS members arrested a 46-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs.
This success follows an undercover operations which identified the suspect who resides at Villa Da Sol, Villa Da Sol Road, Parklands, Table View selling drugs in the area.
The first undercover operation was conducted on 16 January 2019 at 21:00 at a restaurant near Blouberg Beach Front. Two grams of rock cocaine were bought via an agent for R2000 but the suspect gave a discount of R800. The drugs were bought and seized and handed in as exhibit at Bothasig SAPS.
The second operation took place on 24 January 2019 at 21:30 where six ecstasy tablets were bought for R150 each and eight grams of rock cocaine for R500 each with an even larger discount of R1000 a gram. The total amount bought for was R5000. The suspect's vehicle, a Golf GTI 6, was also seized. Upon a further search at this residence, more drugs to the value of R25 000 was found including cocaine, MDMA and tik were seized.
The 46-year-old suspect was detained at Table View SAPS and are due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court on Monday, 28 January 2019 on a charge of dealing in drugs.
In an unrelated incident, police members attached to Worcester Cluster Fiela Team have arrested a 30-year-old man with drugs in Zwelethemba during a house raid with a search warrant on Thursday night, 24 January 2019.
During the raid, 122 tik straws, 18 sachets of tik, eight mandrax tablets, 50 half mandrax tablets, 80 quarters of mandrax tablets, 90 sachets of dagga, 47 dagga cigarettes and loose dagga weighing 1,12kg worth a substantial amount were seized.
The suspect is expected to appear at Worcester Magistrate's Court on a charge of possession of drugs on Monday, 28 January 2019.
