Successes: Cradock Crime Investigation and Detection Unit

CRADOCK � On 2019-04-29, a 26-year-old male, Aniwe Bobo were sentenced to 7 years effective imprisonment for Attempted Robbery, at the Cradock Regional Court. Bobo's conviction emanated from an incident on 2018-09-15 at 07:45 when he attempted to rob the complainant of her cell phone next to the J.A. Calata High School. On 2019-05-03, an 18 year old male, Lulethu Zinzani was sentenced to 15 years effective imprisonment at the Cradock Regional Court. Zinzani's conviction emanated from an incident on 2018-10-13 at 23:35 when he stabbed the complainant on his left hand and robbed him at knife point of his cell phone and sneakers in the Lingelihle locality of Cradock.

On 2019 -05-03, a 19 year old male was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment, suspended for 5 years. On the same day his accomplice, the 16 year old male was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment of which 6 of the 12 years were suspended for 5 years, for Robbery with a firearm. The conviction eminated from an incident on 2017-08-27 at 22:00 when a driver of the Mhlobo driving school was parked between the Michausdal and Lingelihle locality in Cradock. The driver was then approached by two suspects whom offered to help him. After the suspects then left the complainant they returned again and robbed the driver of his cell phone with a panga and a firearm.

The Cradock Cluster Commander, Brigadier Madoda Zamkana welcomed the sentences handed down by the Cradock Regional Court and commended the two detectives on the successes they achieved.
