Deputy President Paul Mashatile will convene a National Dialogue on Coalition Governments
Members of the media who have applied for accreditation to cover the dialogue scheduled to take place on the 4th and 5th August 2023 at the University of the Western Cape, are advised of the following arrangements:
Programme:
Day 1 – Friday, 4 August 2023

Part A: Opening session “As South Africa, here we stand”
11h40 – 14h00
Part B: Morning plenary session
“Building a united and democratic South Africa”
15h00 – 17h00
Part C: Afternoon plenary session
“Bound together by the commitment of putting the people first”
17:15 – 20:00 – Breakaway sessions
1. Professionalisation of the public service for improved service delivery
2. Transforming the system of supporting municipalities in coalition governments
3. Identifying elements of the culture that is necessary and the political social compact for coalition governments
4. Proposed regulation of coalition governments (immediate, medium and long term)
Day 2 – Saturday, 5 August 2023

“Establishing a society anchored on democratic values and systems”

All sessions of the dialogue are open to the media.
Parking
Media will be directed to their respective parking that has been allocated for the National Dialogue, from the main gate of the University of the Western Cape.
Members of the media are requested to arrive at 8H00 to avoid delays, and to park their vehicles at the allocated parking areas. Media will be shuttled to the venue of the National Dialogue (Jakes Gerwel Hall).
Dress code – Formal
Members of the media are invited to collect accreditation at the University of the Western Cape on Thursday 3 August 2023 at the Senate Hall from 11h00 to 18h00
