NAMAHADI – The police divers, together with the Maluti-a-Phofung Fire Department, retrieved the body of a male who was floating in the water and noticed by community members.

On Thursday, 23 February 2023 at approximately 10:00, the Namahadi police were summoned to the Kgoptjane River, where fisherman noticed the body floating in the water.

Sergeant Mabe of the Phuthaditjhaba Diving Unit, together with Maluti-a-Phofung divers, retrieved the decomposed body. The identity of the person is unknown. He was dressed in a black long-sleeve T-shirt and black track pants.

Any person who might have lost their next of kin, family, or relative can visit the Phuthaditjhaba State Mortuary for further identification purposes.
