Pandor to host her New Zealand counterpart in Cape Town

The International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Dr Naledi Pandor, will host her counterpart in New Zealand, Nanaia Mahuta, on Friday, 5 August, in Cape Town.

“It is expected that the two Ministers will discuss bilateral relations between South Africa and New Zealand, as well as the situation in Africa, Ukraine-Russia, women empowerment, science, technology, nuclear disarmament, and United Nations Security Council reform,” the statement read.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1994, the department said South Africa and New Zealand have signed nine agreements.

Additionally, the two Ministers will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on bilateral cooperation.

New Zealand’s ties with South Africa range from trade and tourism, agriculture, disarmament, fisheries, environment, indigenous and human rights issues as well as sports.
