WESTERN CAPE – Deputy Minister of Police,Mr Bongani Mkongi will host a one day School and Campus Safety Dialogue on Saturday 13 April 2019, under the theme-ON A JOURNEY TO A SAFER SOUTH AFRICA: building safer learning environments
The purpose of the of the dialogue is to fulfil the South African Police Service’s mandate of achieving community centred policing which seeks to create a crime free environment conducive for learning. The engagement is also part of the Campus Safety program launched by the Ministry of Police at the Tshwane University of Technology in May 2018.
The Deputy Minister is also embarking on a roadshow to institutions of higher learning in response to the horrific murders of learners and students and many other horrendous incidents reported to have happened within the learning environment.
Various Stakeholders and role players from the Education sector and the different communities in the Western Cape will participate in the dialogue.
