Man shoots himself with pistol at Kakuro village

A 60-year-old man committed suicide by shooting himself with his own pistol on Thursday, the police said.

The Namibian Police Force’s daily crime report issued on Friday indicated that the incident happened at Kakuro village in the Kavango East Region.

According to the report, the man died immediately and the motive of his action remains unknown. He has been identified as Rameka Paulus and his next of kin are informed.

No suicide note was found and police investigations into the matter continue.

In another incident at Etayi village in the Omusati Region, a 28-year-old man also committed suicide.

He allegedly broke into his mother’s room to access the pistol he shot himself with.

The man was declared dead upon arrival at the Okalongo Health Centre.

He has been identified as Ngenokesho Fimanekeni and his next of kin are informed.

The body has been transported to the Okahao Police Mortuary.

No suicide note was found and police investigations continue.
