Man gets 10 years imprisonment for raping his pregnant step-sister

The Provincial Head for FCS in the Northern Cape, Brigadier Nicky Mills welcomed the 10 year sentence handed down to Tshenolo Moagi aged 27 years.

On 02 April 2016, Moagi raped his then seven months pregnant step-sister at their home in Bankhara. He also hit the victim with a fist when she tried to fight back.

Moagi was arrested on 05 April 2016 and with bail successfully opposed, he remained bars until he was found guilty.

On 13 July 2021, he was sentenced to 10 years direct imprisonment. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm and his name was recorded in the Sexual Offences Register for offenders.

Kuruman FCS Commander, Captain Caren Nel commended Warrant Officer Keitumetse Semetsa for her commitment and thorough investigation that ensured the perpetrator serves time for this heinous crime.
