Man found in possession of unlicensed firearm

PHUTHADITJHABA - The Phuthaditjhaba Tactical Response Team has arrested a man following information that he possess a firearm.

Apparently the members were officially on duty following up on information of alleged possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunitions around Tseseng area. They spotted the suspect at Makeneng near local tavern.

He was approached, searched and they found 9mm pistol and live ammunitions and couldn't produce any documentation of possessing the firearm. The 32-year-old foreign national currently residing at Namahadi village in QwaQwa was arrested and detained in police cells.

He will appear before Tseseng Magistrate court on Friday, 14 January 2022 facing charge of possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
