Limpopo Corporate Communication Safer Festive Season communication plan rolled out throughout the province

The South African Police Service in Limpopo continue with the implementation of the Communication plan in support of the 2018 Provincial Safer Festive Season operational plan.

On Tuesday evening 2018-12-18, the Section Head of Media Centre, Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe has conducted a live interview with the SABC Thobela FM from their studio in Polokwane from 20:00 to 21:00 and Constable Maphure Manamela attached to the Media Centre, also visited Energy FM in the City of Polokwane and conducted a live interview from 19:00 to 19:30 as part of implementing this plan.

Listeners were addressed about the prevalence of criminal activities at Shopping Centres and Malls particularly ATM Fraud, Theft out of motor vehicle, armed and common robberies including domestic violence.

General safety tips relevant to this festive season were shared with the listeners and these included the prevention of armed robberies, strengthening of partnership policing, mob attacks and killings. Listeners were encouraged to report crime and act against abuse.

Listeners were given opportunity to ask questions and to give inputs on Policing related issues. Their concerns were addressed and clarification was given to a number of the raised concerns.

The police will continue to make use of this platform and other platforms to reach out to the various communities in order to reach as many community members as far as possible.
