Lichtenburg: The police in Lichtenburg are appealing to the community for assistance in locating Letshabang Lazarus Sekete, a 68-year-old man residing in Garsfontein Village in Bakerville, near Lichtenburg. Sekete was last seen by his son at a neighbor’s wedding on Saturday, 4 October 2025, around 20:00.

According to South African Police Service, Sekete has dementia and was wearing brown jeans, a brown long-sleeve shirt, a yellow cap, and brown formal shoes at the time of his disappearance. He is described as having a dark complexion, tall and slim build, bald head, white moustache and beard, and brown eyes.

Despite conducting a search, performing extensive investigations, and following all leads, the police have been unable to locate Sekete. They urge anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the Investigating Officer, Sergeant Gopolang Mogape, at 060 987 9956, reach out to their local police station, or call Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the MySAPS App from a smartphone.
