Kimberley: Medal parade held for loyal service members

Kimberley: The Medal Parade in honour of Kimberley SAPS members who served the service for 10, 20, 30 years with loyalty and faithfulness took place at Kimberley Station Parade Grounds, on 07 February 2019. The functionary was the Provincial Commissioner for the Northern Cape, Lieutenant General Risimati Shivuri and in attendance was the Acting Cluster Commander for the Frances Baard Cluster, Brigadier Tip Brink, Kimberley Station Commander, Brigadier Charlotte Makgari and Acting Galeshewe Station Commander, Colonel Alexia Robertson and members of the community.

The event was opened with a prayer by Chaplain Warrant Officer Paul Volgraaf and Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Shivuri rendered the key note address and congratulated all recipients of medals and appreciation certificates for the hard work. He added that the occasion gestures the loyalty towards serving the community of Kimberley. More than 50 members received Service, World Cup and Centenary medals. Members from Visible Policing Unit, Detectives, SAPS Support Section, Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, Cleaning and Kitchen staff received 35 appreciation certificates and 10 appreciation letters for outstanding service rendered.

All the recipients were motivated by this gesture and their loyalty will serve as a motivation to young members that faithfulness and commitment pay dividends.
