Intelligence driven operation yields positive results

NELSPRUIT – The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has appreciated the actions of the police at Standerton after they arrested five (05) suspects, yesterday, 08 June 2022 during an intelligence driven operation.

The suspects, Themba Hlongwane (29), Nhlanhla Nyoka (18), Johan Smith (35), Alex Kapp (41) and Moses Ifenaboh (25), all appeared at the Standerton Magistrate’s Court, today, 09 June 2022 on various charges including, dealing in drugs, possession of drugs as well as possession of suspected stolen property.

These suspects were all arrested separately at their places of residence in areas around Standerton.

According to the report, Police received information that the suspects were allegedly in possession of drugs and pounced on them where upon on their arrival, searched their houses and found different types of drugs. They further established that the suspects were also dealing in drugs. They were then arrested on the spot. Two of them (Smith and Kapp) were further charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

The drugs are estimated to be worth about R34 800-00 in street value.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela has applauded the members for a job well done.
