Hawks arrest municipality officials for corruption in Kwazulu-Natal

PRETORIA � Three senior officials from Abaqulusi District Municipality have been arrested today by the Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigating unit for alleged corruption.

The suspects aged 43, 48 and 58, were arrested in a sting operation when the Hawks acted on a tipoff implicating the officials in a payment of a bribe to a member of another political party.

The three were allegedly caught in the act of offering a bribe to the said official.

All three are expected to appear in the Vryheid Magistrates' Court tomorrow facing charges of corruption.
