The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has inaugurated its revised service charter.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This is to ensure rewards and efficient service delivery among the members of staff of the ministry.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Inaugurating the document on Thursday in Abuja, the Minister, Sadiya Farouk, said the charter aimed at defining the service experience its publics would have with it.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Farouk said that the revised edition of the charter was created to ensure strict service compliance in the discharge of the ministry`s responsibility to the public.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201c This document is a compendium that gives an overview of the ministry, the aims and objectives of the ministry as well as mechanisms for redressing grievances\u201c she said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Minister also used the event to honour some staffers of the ministry with a prestigious award of excellence in service delivery for their outstanding performances.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201c The ministry has been rendering services to millions of its beneficiaries through various programmes as such it has become necessary to recognise and reward hard working staff,`\u2019 Farouk said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Also speaking, the National Coordinator, Service Compact with all Nigerians (SERVICOM), Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, commended the minister for her commitment towards providing efficient service delivery to Nigerians.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Akajemeli said that the document would remain a tool that boosts quality service delivery.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, implementation is key to the success of this service charter, we are also lending our voice to what you\u2019re already doing to satisfy the citizens through service delivery\u201c she said<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Permanent Secretary, Dr Nasir Gwarzo, said the ministry`s mandate was to develop humanitarian policies by providing effective coordination of national and international humanitarian interventions.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThis mandate has put the ministry in the spotlight since its inception, three years ago and with the commitment of all the staffers, their skills, their focus, we have been able to serve our customers.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mandate also includes strategic disaster miitigation preparedness, response management.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cit also entails the formulation and implementation of a fair and focused social inclusion, as well as protection programmes in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cThe charter was put in place in order to ensure that the ministry maintains efficient and effective service delivery to its customers,\u201c he said<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
