{"id":49868,"date":"2023-02-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southafricavoice.com\/?guid=ec64c8809da49629df2900e16fecb77c"},"modified":"2023-02-18T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-18T00:00:00","slug":"saps-deployment-in-delf-yield-positive-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricavoice.com\/saps-deployment-in-delf-yield-positive-results\/","title":{"rendered":"SAPS deployment in Delf yield positive results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WESTERN CAPE &#8211; The deployment of SAPS specialist units in the crime hotspots proved to be successful when they arrested and detained two males in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and a hijacked vehicle in Delft on Friday, 17 February 2023.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Police members attached to the Anti-Gang Unit conduced an intelligence driven operation in Leiden, Delft. They operationalised the information at their disposal and pounced on an address in Kat Court. Upon entering the premises they found a male present and started to search the premises with the unknown male at their side. They confiscated a .38 special revolver with ammunition hidden in a fabric cloth underneath the bed. The 27-year-old man was arrested and detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Police members of Operation Restore were busy with patrols near to Symphony Way, when they were stopped by an unknown man who informed them that unknown suspects hijacked his vehicle a moment ago. The members searched the area and spotted the vehicle near to Elands Way. A high speed chase ensued until they brought the vehicle to a halt on Symphony Way. They searched the vehicle and recovered a 9 mm Taurus pistol with ammunition.
