A weekly report on dam levels issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation in Limpopo has shown a smallest drop of the province\u2019s dam levels from last week\u2019s 88.3% to 88.2% this week. During a similar period last year, the province\u2019s overall storage capacity stood at 84.2%.<\/P>
This slight drop means that the available water in the province as of this week is at 1305.3 cubic metres out of a full capacity of 1480.1 cubic metres.<\/P>
The Polokwane Water Supply System with dams supplying water to Polokwane and surrounding areas is currently at 101.5%, a slight drop from last week\u2019s 101.6%. This is, however, a great improvement compared to last year at this time when the system stood at 90.7%.<\/P>
Despite the overall decline, several dams have slightly increased. Vergelegen Dam increased from 99.3% last week to 100.3% this week. Vondo Dam increased from 100.6% last week, to 100.9% this week. Albasini Dam also slightly improved from 99.9% last week to 100.2% this week.<\/P>
De Hoop and Tonteldoos Dams remained the same at 100.3% and 100.5% respectively. <\/P>
Vlugkraal Dam dropped from 100% last week to 99.2% this week. Flag Boshielo Dam also took a dip, it was 102.1% last week and this week it is at 100%. Tours Dam dropped from 98.4% last week to 98.3%. Modjadji Dam was 56.4% last week, and this week it is standing at 56%.<\/P>
The Department of Water and Sanitation has reiterated its call to residents to continue using water sparingly. The communities are also encouraged to report any water leaks and water infrastructure vandalism to local municipalities.<\/P>
