The swift action by the police led to the recovery of stolen properties

The operational strategies by the Limpopo police implemented to curb burglaries around schools, have yielded positive results after the recovery of various properties by the Saps members in Apel on 2018-10-23.

The recovery of these items follows an incident that took place at Ga-Nchabeleng village in the Apel policing precinct. It is alleged that the police received a report of burglary incident that occurred at one of the local schools on 23-10-208 between 00:00 and 03:00 in the morning. Later in the evening on the same day, the police where on patrol when they spotted a suspicious Toyota quantum parked next to another school and confronted the occupants. The suspects drove off and a car chase ensued until to a river. The culprits abandoned the vehicle and vanished in the dark on foot.

During the search the following items were seized:

* 02 - Overhead projectors

* 06 - Computers

* 06 - Laptops

* 01 - Plasma

* 01 - Hybrid Amplifier

* 01 - Hybrid speaker

* 02 -Heavy duty extension cords

* 01- Iron scissor

* 01- Crowbar

* 06- Grinding discs

* 04-pairs of hand gloves

The origin and destination of these items is subject to police investigations.

The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspects involved in this matter and appeal to members of the community with information to contact Captain Rasedile at 082 414 1474, the police emergency number 0860010111, the crime sms line 32211 or the nearest police station.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has applauded the officers for their swift reaction.

"Any form of criminality in and around schools premises will not be tolerated and we are ready to take criminals on", Concluded General Ledwaba.
