NORTHERN CAPE - On Tuesday, 21 May 2019, SAPS members received recognition for their outstanding work within John Taolo Gaetsewe cluster. It has been a dream of the cluster Commander Major General Johan Bean since his appointment in August 2016 to see members under his command being recognized for their sterling work. As JTG Cluster he believe that performance appraisal is the best art to keep members under his command happy and positive.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Shivuri and his two deputies, Major General Mnguni and Major General Otola attended the awards ceremony.
When addressing the attendees and awards recipients, the Provincial Commissioner emphasized that the Northern Cape SAPS top management is pleased with the progress made within the John Taolo Gaetsewe cluster in the fight against crime.
The Provincial Commissioner further complimented the cluster for sterling efforts during the festive season and during the National Elections period while also expressing their gratitude towards all members within John Taolo Gaetsewe cluster.
Furthermore the Provincial Commissioner commended all stakeholders such as the Community Policing Forum, Chiefs and their communities, Business fraternities, Private sectors, Neighborhood watch, Youth structures, NGOs and CBOs, Spiritual leaders and all government departments for their social responsibilities and support in the fight against crime. The award categories: Cleanest police station, cleanest barracks, best station or unit which is taking care of its vehicles. Further than that members were awarded for being hard working persons in their various units or components.
In conclusion, the Cluster Commander, Major General Bean encouraged the members within his cluster to keep on nominating themselves or the station commanders should nominate members under their command so that they can be awarded for service excellence in their cluster
