GQEBERHA – SAPS Humewood arrested a 32-year-old suspect on a charge of murder this morning 30 October 2022 in Forest Hill.
It is alleged that this morning between 04:00 and 05:00 the deceased was a passenger in a vehicle, a Renault Kwid, with three other occupants driving in Brickmakerskloof. According to information, the suspect was sitting at the back of the vehicle when the passenger sitting next to him wanted to look at his firearm. The suspect removed the magazine and handed it to his passenger. After the passenger returned the firearm, the suspect replaced the magazine and pulled the trigger. A shot was fired hitting the deceased in the back of the head.
The driver rushed the victim to hospital however on arrival he passed away. At approximately 10:00 this morning, the suspect was arrested. The firearm was not recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
The name of the deceased will be released once the next of kin has been informed.
The suspect will appear in the Gqeberha magistrate court during the week on a charge of murder.
