Successful combined operation at Maletswai #Buya Mthetho – Reclaiming Our Space

EASTERN CAPE - On Wednesday, 12 February 2020 members from Crime Intelligence Unit and Maletswai Detectives conducted a successful combined operation after they followed up positive information.

Several suspects were arrested and could be linked to housebreaking, business burglary and theft cases.

In the first incident, the members proceeded to an identified house and manage to arrest two suspects, both aged 33. Stolen property including, 3 Dell computers, 1 large photo copy machine and a KIC fridge were recovered all to the value of R 10 000-00.

The one outstanding suspect is soon to be arrested as investigation continues.

A 22-year-old suspect was also arrested and could be linked to a burglary case in Area 13 after an amplifier that was stolen was recovered at a second hand shop.

The arrest of an 18-year-old suspect, at Block H, after he was sought since January 2020, will also make a big impact.

Property crimes is one of the priority crimes in the Maletswai Policing area and these arrests will have a significant impact on the linkage and successful investigation of the cases.

The acting Cluster Commander, Colonel Chris Wright commended the members in bringing their expertise to the combined operation and for securing the successfull arrests, confiscation and linkages.
