The National Department of Sports, Arts and Culture in partnership with University of Limpopo (Turfloop) will host a Social Cohesion Youth Month dialogue on Thursday, 13 June 2019 at the R40 Auditorium, University of Limpopo (Turfloop). The dialogue will be hosted under the theme, 25 Years of Youth Activism: Challenges and Success Stories.
The 2019 Social Cohesion Youth Month Dialogue will provide youth from diverse communities within and around Polokwane with the opportunity to deliberate the historic 1976 Soweto Uprising as a defining moment in the history of South Africa. Further, this dialogic platform will allow the young people to robustly discuss the following thematic areas:
25 years of democracy and what this means to the young people
The Article 20 of African Union Youth Charter
The role of youth in promoting social cohesion (gender-based violence, alcoholism and drug abuse, education, and unemployment)
Youth and the use of indigenous languages
