SOUTH AFRICA MOVES TO SERCURE WATER RESOURCES

The South African Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) is consulting stakeholders to get inputs on the formulation of its National Groundwater Strategy which is aimed at ensuring water security in the country and optimising water resource management.

Consultations are taking place throughout the country with stakeholders in Mpumalanga Province were engaged for their inputs and comments last week, the department said in a statement over the weekend.

The stakeholders came from different sectors, including municipalities, government departments, mining, agriculture, industries, service providers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and South African National parks (SANParks).
