South Africa and Angola have committed to strengthen bilateral co-operation in the areas of mining and upstream petroleum activities, says South African Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane.
This came about during a meeting between Zwane and his Angolan counterpart, Geology and Mining Minister Francisco Queiroz, on the sidelines of the Investing in African Mining Indaba, which is being held in Cape Town this week.
Zwane said the two countries would collaborate on matters of mutual interest, including in the areas of policy, geological mapping, exploration and policy.
We must also action the agreements in the African Mining Vision, so that our objective of a prosperous Africa can be realised," he added.
Teams from both countries will meet in the next two weeks to begin implementing the bilateral commitments.
