SAPS family lends a helping hand to one of their own

Following a report that one of our own became destitute as a result of a house fire on 22 July 2019, the Provincial Commissioner's office mandated personnel to initiate support for the member (CAC Y Maqutyana) in need.

All senior managers, commanders, members and colleagues were requested to make donations in support of Maqutyana family in this time of need.

On 26 July 2019 in Mxenge SAPS Barracks, Junior Management Core along with Men for Change, Women's Network, Personnel and the Financial Management contributed towards donations as part of an initial crisis management plan.

Brigadier Mjali offered words of support saying words can't take away the pain of losing a home, but they can go a long way towards healing, we came here to show our support as your colleagues and seniors.

We know that we can't make your pain go away, but we want you to know we are here for you as SAPS family, said Colonel Dembula.

Colonel Falteni thanked everyone who contributed on this unplanned initiative to make sure that the Maqutyana family is being cared for.
