Police continue to combat crime through safer school programs

PHALABORWA- The police in Phalaborwa have today on 2018-09-17 embarked on safer school campaign at Frans Du Toit high School. The Acting Vispol Commander Captain Mathebula led the campaign, joined by Social Crime prevention Sgt Mongwe EP and Cst Nkuna GS.

The main aim of the campaign was to address the continuing violence perpetuated against teachers at schools, due to children who carry dangerous weapons into school premises. These violent behaviour was strongly condemned. Children were also urged to speedly refrain from such inhumane actions.

They were further discouraged practicing bullying at schools and stealing from others. They must not engage themselves in drugs and alcohol abuse, rather focus on their studies in order to be competent.

The consequences of having a criminal record were also highlighted and learners were encouraged to report any form of criminality to the police.
