Mopani District: Vala Umgodi Operation members in Mopani District apprehended a 28-year-old male suspect for illegal sand mining at the Molati site in the Letsitele Policing area on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at approximately 20:30.

According to South African Police Service, the team acted on intelligence that led to the successful arrest of the suspect. The individual was found with various items, including a cellphone, shovel, pick, bin, and buckets. These items were confiscated and are currently held at the local police station.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the local Magistrate’s Court.
