The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor arrives in Jamaica tonight, at an invitation by the Jamaican Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, Dr. Andrew Wheatley.
The visit coincides with the Jamaica's 2016 National Science and Technology Conference and exhibition, held under the theme, "Science, Technology ad Innovation: Stimulus for Health and Well, aimed at profiling Jamaica's capabilities on science, technology and innovation.
Minister Pandor will, on Wednesday, 16 November 2016, deliver a keynote address during the Jamaican National Awards Ceremony for Science and Innovation. Her speech is titled "The Integration of Indigenous Knowledge Systems in Driving Development: Lessons from the South African experience."
On Thursday, Minister Pandor will attend the 3rd Joint Committee Meeting on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between South Africa and Jamaica.
Amongst meeting Minister Pandor will have on the sidelines of this meeting, include; a bilateral with Dr. Andrew Wheatley, the Jamaican Minister of Science, Energy and Technology as well as a meeting with the Jamaican Heads of Research and Development Institutions.
Minister Pandor is scheduled to arrive back in South Africa on Saturday, 19 November 2016.
