Middelburg Flying Squad members confiscated R26,000 worth of dagga, two suspects arrested

NELSPRUIT – Middelburg Flying Squad members on routine patrol arrested two suspects both aged 23 for possession of 26,435 kg dagga estimated at about R26 000 on street value this morning at about 07:30.

The members were patrolling the N11 when they spotted a suspicious maroon Toyota RunX with the driver and a passenger on the N4 and N11 off ramp. Police then searched the vehicle whereby plastic bags containing dagga was found.

Both suspects were arrested and are expected to appear in the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow, Friday 10 February 2023.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has reiterated the position of intolerance taken by the SAPS when it comes to issues involving trafficking of drugs in the province. The General further added that the members are always on high alert to ensure that no criminal activities are allowed to take place unabated.
