Manhunt launched after Klerksdorp courier vehicle was robbed large quantities of medicines robbed at gun point

BOTHAVILLE – An employee of a courier company from Klerksdorp was robbed at gun point, hijacked and taken to an industrial area where the suspect fled with the medicine.

On 07 February 2023 at about 09:50, a 40-year-old employee of a courier company was delivering medicines at a Doctor’s surgery in Bothaville when he was apparently approached by a male suspect.

He was instructed to sit in the middle while another male suspect got into the courier vehicle in the passenger side. The two suspects drove off to the Industrial site. The suspects offloaded all the medication. He was forced inside the boot and suspects drove off to an unknown destination.

A passer-by came to his assistance and rescued him. The incident was reported at Bothaville Police Station. A case of robbery with a firearm and hijacking was registered for further investigation.
