On Monday, 17 September 2018, Government will mark the beginning of the Fifth Annual Thusong Service Centre Week. The 2018 Annual Thusong Service Centre Week takes place in conjunction with the Public Service Month, under the theme: Thuma Mina Taking Public Service to the People: We Belong, We Care, We Serve.
The 2018 Thusong Centre Service week activities will be celebrated in line with the centenary of the life of our nation's founding father, former President Nelson Mandela, under the theme: Be the Legacy. To celebrate the life and contributions of Mama Sisulu, Thusong Dialogues will be implemented at identified Thusong Service Centres. These Thusong Dialogues will strive to better the lives of identified women in their community development path and bring hope to the people. To further tap into the Nelson Mandela Centenary, the Annual Week will focus on the Thusong projects which are implemented at Thusong Service Centres in upholding Madiba's values.
Minister of Communications, Nomvula Mokonyane said, We aim to ensure that through Integrated Mobile Outreach Services, and other GCIS platforms government will maximize the reach and access to government services, during Thusong Service Centre Week.
