Four suspects aged between 29 and 70 years, are due to appear in the Nongoma Magistrate's Court tomorrow facing murder and attempted murder charges. They were arrested yesterday afternoon after they were linked to the killing of their neighbour, Lindiwe Msimango (60) and the injuring her husband.
On Tuesday, 8 October 2018 at 15:30, the home owner, Moses Msimango (62) was gardening at his homestead at Mahashini in Nongoma when he was approached by his neighbours. An argument ensued over the garden he was preparing and when his wife Lindiwe Msimango intervened, she was severely assaulted with a wooden fencing pole. She sustained serious injuries on the head and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Her husband was also assaulted and was transported to hospital as well. Yesterday, the woman died of her injuries and the police were notified. A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at Nongoma police station and the suspects were immediately arrested.
