On 25 April 2018 Operation Fiela Reclaim " under the command of Capt Mvubu was held at Barkly East and included the following role-players: Visible Policing, Mounted Unit , CPF, Youth Forum, Local Municipality and Department of Home Affairs.
The focus of Fiela is to maintain law, order, peace and security as well as to reclaim the space occupied by criminals. Four suspects age between 16 and 25 were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property. Cell phones, clothing and a DVD were recovered.
Liquor outlets and foreigners businesses were also visited for compliance. One liquor outlet was closed down and three illegal immigrants arrested by members of Department Home Affairs for not being in possession of the correct documentation.
During the same day members of Elliot K9 Unit, Cst Ntshanka and Cst Futho and Elliot CIG followed up on information of dealing in dagga at Dordrecht main street. A 54-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing in dagga and 69 zols of dagga with a weight of 233g and cash were confiscated.
The Cluster Commander Col Gezani commended the Operational Commander Capt Mvubu and her team together with all the other departments as well as the K9 Unit for the good work! Together we will reach our joint objective to create a safer environment for the respective communities we serve!
