South Africa's national Under-17 women squad (Bantwana) jetted off to Spain on Thursday (20 September 2018) to kick start their preparations leading up to this Year's FIFA Women's Under-17 World Cup.
Bantwana have been in camp for the past two weeks preparing for this tour, where they are scheduled to play two friendly matches against Spanish selected sides before the return back to into the country on 29 September 2018.
During their eight-day stay in the port city of Valencia, Bantwana will first face UD Lavante women's Under-17s on 24 September 2018, before they lock horns with Valencia CF women's Under-20s two days later (26 September 2018) from their first match.
Coach Simphiwe Dludlu expressed that she is expecting structure, speed and skill from their two already scheduled opponents, adding that such competitiveness in the two friendly matches, will help gage how far are they in their preparations leading up to this year's World football event.
Dludlu also stated that she would love to thank SAFA for partnering with La Liga for making this tour possible.
Bantwana qualified for the FIFA Women's Under-17 World Cup Uruguay edition after beating Morocco 6-1 on aggregate in the final round of the CAF FIFA Women's Under-17 World Cup qualifiers.
