DURBAN – In the early hours of today, police officers from KwaMashu SAPS made a breakthrough when they arrested six murder suspects aged between 17 and 31. It is alleged that on 26 July 2020 at 16:00, Renaldo Naidu, 20, was found with gunshot and stab wounds on his body along Dumisane Makhaye Highway at Siyanda. He was rushed to a local clinic where he was certified dead on arrival. A case of murder was opened at KwaMashu police station for investigation.
The team worked tirelessly to solve this murder and the investigation led them to Newlands East, where four men were arrested. Further investigation led them to a certain house in Effingham Heights where a fifth man was apprehended. Suspects are expected to appear at the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court soon.
Police continued to Inanda where they arrested another murder suspect. A 31-year-old woman was charged for murder and she is appearing at the Ntuzuma Magistrates Court today. Her arrest emanates from the incident that occurred on 2 August 2020 at 05:20, where a 55-year-old male was killed. It is alleged that the there was a dispute between the two and a 55-year-old was stabbed. He sustained a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at a local clinic.
