15 Years for Christmas Day murder in Prieska

The police welcomes the sentencing that was handed down to a Prieska man on Monday, 03 September 2018. Nkosiyeza Tseku (30) was found guilty in the Prieska District Court and sentenced to 15-years-imprisonment for murder.

On Christmas Day 2016 at about 20:00 a passer-by alerted the police about the body of Flip Willemse (49) that was found close to Gariep High School in Prieska, Northern Cape. The deceased male was allegedly in an altercation with the accused, Nkosiyeza Tseku, and was beaten to death with a rock. Three other male acquaintances of Tseku were also arrested, but later acquitted of all charges, asTseku pleaded guilty on the charge of murder. Nkosiyeza Tseku was sentenced during 2017 for another murder he committed in Prieska during 2015 and was out on bail when he murdered Willemse.

The Pixley Ka Semme SAPS Cluster Commander, Brig Nomahlubi Sofika commended D/Sgt Mmoloki Riet for a job well done. We trust that this sentencing leaves our society safer and more secure.
